There are many all-in-one Amazon seller tools on the market to investigate and consider for purchase. The two most widely used are Helium 10 and Jungle Scout. These products are especially popular with early Amazon businesses as both offer initial, basic plans with low monthly fees. So, which all-in-one Amazon tool is the best for you in 2021? In this comparison we’ll review the two tools and for the time being settle the ongoing Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout debate:
- Jungle Scout and Helium 10 Features
- Jungle Scout and Helium 10 Pricing
- Pros and Cons of both Tools
- Conclusion & Recommendation
Jungle Scout and Helium 10 Features
The product and keyword research tools in Helium 10 and Jungle Scout are very identical. Helium 10 calls them the Black Box, Cerebro, Magnet, and so on, while Jungle Scout uses a more straightforward naming convention with Keyword Scout and Opportunity Finder.
In addition to offering data on sales volume, search volume, competitor inventory levels, and average PPC bid price, these tools provide keyword data, as well as tracking product and review performance over time. This information is highly valuable for new sellers trying to determine successful product niches, as well as experienced sellers looking to optimize their listings or add new items to their store.
Both tools have a Chrome Extension that allows you to access a listing to identify other product opportunities directly from an Amazon category or item web page.
There are some features unique to Helium 10 that Jungle Scout doesn’t have and vice versa. When comparing feature sets for use at your company, it will be important to determine which functions are must-haves for your business. This will help to inform and influence your product choice.
Email Follow Up Functionality
Both Jungle Scout and Helium 10 understand the importance of follow-up email sequences to nurture people in their customer voyage.
Jungle Scout supplies email automation starting at $49 per month. The cost increases based upon the number of orders your store receives each month.
Helium 10 supplies a similar plan. Prices start at $47 for 5,000 emails monthly and max out at $197 for emails with no limit.
It’s challenging to compare Jungle Scout and Helium 10 email follow up pricing since they structure the limits differently. Helium, at first, appears as the better deal with a fee starting at $47 monthly for 5,000 emails. However, if you plan on sending out a higher volume of emails to buyers, the two plans tend to level out in the long run.
User Interface / Ease of Use
The interfaces, filters, and performance of both tools are very similar. Given the large collection of features for each, it’s worth discussing the ease of using each tool. In our opinion, Jungle Scout is the winner here. This is due primarily to its platform displaying fewer tools. At times, Helium 10 can feel overwhelming with everything that is included.
Helium 10’s tool naming convention is also confusing, as there is no clear connection between the tool’s name and its function. While fun, this naming approach takes extra time to learn. Jungle Scout’s naming convention includes associations with what the tool offers i.e., Product Database, Keyword Scout, Particular Niche Hunter. Helium 10’s Cerebro might seem like a clever and highbrow name, but nothing about the name intuitively suggests that it’s a keyword search and reserve ASIN tool.
Bottom line, Helium 10’s organization is confusing. This point might seem minor, but we were frustrated by how many tools there are and how inconvenient it is to switch from tool to tool and wait for each to load. Many of these tools could be combined into a single interface. Helium 10 may appear to have more features than they do by breaking up tools that could be combined.
Training and resources
Both Jungle Scout and Helium 10 provide great training videos and written content for each tool. The styles vary between Helium 10 and Jungle Scout presenters, but both training and content resources provide critical information that enable you to make the best and most efficient use the tools.
Features found in Helium 10 but not in Jungle Scout
- Refund Genie– Amazon does not always compensate sellers for damaged items nor Amazon errors. The Refund Genie device identifies Amazon’s mistakes and aids you in requesting a refund.
- Seller Hijacking Alerts—Get alerted when a seller hijacks your listing, makes product title adjustments, modifies images, or there’s been a change to item measurements
- Inventory Protector – This tool ensures your promotions aren’t abused by a customer. If you’re running a coupon, this feature will limit a buyer’s ability to purchase multiple units in excess of the limit you set.
- PPC Functionality – Helium 10 Diamond and Elite subscriptions now come with Helium 10’s new PPC management tool, “ADS”. Jungle Scout, as of now, doesn’t offer a similar tool
- Note: in 2021, JungleScout purchased the PPC company “Downstream” so this PPC feature is likely to be available in a matter of time.
Features found in Jungle Scout but not in Helium 10
- Freelancer Marketplace – JungleScout offers “Jungle Market” where vetted users have access to vetted photographers, videographers, PPC experts, launch services and more. The peace of mind knowing you’re paying for quality vetted services is worth its weight in gold.

Helium 10 Chrome Extension vs Jungle Scout Chrome Extension
We would be remiss if we didn’t address the tools that are available by Helium 10 and Jungle Scout through their browser extension integrations. Both companies offer powerful Chrome Extensions. One main difference is that Helium 10’s chrome extension is offered at no additional cost to any paid plan, while Jungle Scout charges $49/month. Note, Jungle Scout’s Suite plan for $69/month includes Chrome Extension. So, if you’re planning to proceed with Jungle Scout, we recommend that you consider the Suite Plan at $69/month instead of the Basic Plan at $49/month.
Both the Helium 10 and Jungle Scout extensions provide the following:
- Search volume
- Product sales
- Profitability calculator
- Find Supplier on Alibaba with one-click
Helium 10 Chrome Extension
Jungle Scout Chrome Extension
Jungle Scout’s chrome extension has a Search Opportunity Score for the niche and a Listing Quality Score for the specific product, neither of which are available through Helium 10.
Helium 10’s chrome extension has Inventory Level data, Frequently Bought Together Products and Review extractor tool, which are not available on Jungle Scout’s.
The extensions for both are very similar, with about 80% overlap in features. That said, Helium 10’s extension has more functionality and, in my experience, loads faster on Amazon search. This factor becomes very important when you’re searching many times a week.
Helium 10 Pricing
wHelium 10’s pricing allows new Amazon sellers the ability to use certain tools free of charge. However, it does restrict the number of searches you can use on the Free Plan. Because of this, you won’t have full access to the features for more than a quick search or two a day. We don’t recommend using the Free Plan for long if you’re a serious Amazon seller, but it’s a good way to test drive the product.
Helium 10’s main plan, Platinum, starts at $97 per month. With this plan, you get most features you’ll need except the new PPC tool. For most Amazon Sellers, this is more than enough. The Platinum Plan is the most popular for getting started and provides new sellers all they could possibly need or use! If you’re the everyday Amazon FBA seller, then the Platinum Plan is ideal for you at $97 per month (before FBA Global Audience Discount).
Helium 10 also has an a la carte strategy where you pay only for the features you require. We don’t recommend this strategy as a number of the Helium 10 tools work most effectively in sync together, so you’ll be better served paying for the entire plan.
Helium 10 has premium plans as well, Diamond and Elite, that you may be interested in pursuing depending on your business needs.
Jungle Scout Pricing
Jungle Scout is transparent when it comes to pricing and what each plan includes. It’s clear which tools are included in each plan.
You can purchase Jungle Scout’s web version and Chrome Extension bundled together in its most popular plan, “Suite,” for $69 per month. Just like Helium 10, Jungle Scout discounts the tools when purchased together.
Note, Jungle Scout does not offer a free trial at this time.

- Data Accuracy
- Affordable plans
- Freelancer marketplace

- No PPC functionality
- Full integration between web and chrome extension can be buggy
- Most comprehensive all-in-one tool on the market
- PPC feature
- Listing optimizing tools
- Index checker for keyword ranking

- Higher learning curve when starting
Conclusion and Recommendation
Helium 10 offers a number of valuable tools that Jungle Scout doesn’t offer:
- Refund Tool: Assists in obtaining compensation from Amazon for lost inventory
- Hijacker Alerts: Notifies you when someone changes one of your listings (critical!) or piggybacks on it
- Inventory Protector: Prevents you from accidentally selling a high percentage of inventory through erroneous use of coupons
